principle for family development - family system

What is the Principle:

  1. Traditionally, Hindus have been living in joint family. Normally, family members of two or more generations are living together in joint family system. The joint family is generally having common business and one common kitchen.
  2. In case of joint family business, eldest son is called Karta who commands the business and other male members are called coparceners.  Such family business is named as Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) and having special concessions under Indian law.
Why such Principle:

Joint Family System has clear advantage over nuclear family system:

  1. It has advantages of “sharing of happiness increases the happiness and sharing of sorrow, decreases the sorrow”.
  2. The HUF business has multiplier effect and further improves due to multiple ideas.
  3. The common pool of wealth has larger economic shock absorbing capacity.
  4. JFS teaches greater mutual adjustments which help in personal development of its members.
  5. Basic human needs of members of JFS are taken care.
  1. JFS takes care old, widowed, physically weak and disabled family members.
  2. The feeling of togetherness and selflessness is developed which is important for clearing karmic accounts and better next life.

The mind diseases are on rise partially due to isolation and lack of sharing the emotions. Hence, JFS is a better solution for individual / family growth and development.

A word of caution is –
Members should have mutual respect; feelings of generosity, charity, strong moral character, farsightedness and self-imposed discipline.
