(Sanskrit: वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम. from “vasudha”, the earth; “iva”, is ; and “kutumbakam”, family) is a Sanskrit phrase that means that the whole world is one single family. The concept originates in the Vedic scripture Maha Upanishad (Chapter 6, Verse 72):
“Sarve bhavantu sukhinah sarve santu niramaya. Sarve bhadhrani pashayantu ma kaschit duhkha bhaag bhaveet (सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामया। सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चित् दुःखभाग् भवेत्।।“
This is the mantra or prayer done by Hindu for thousands of years for well-being of society. It prays that everybody be happy, healthy (disease free), witness auspicious happenings and nobody to face misery or distress. The prayer is wholesome and good for everybody. When everybody is happy and healthy, the universe shall be good place to live. The mantra spreads positive vibrations and create better environment for everybody.
